Bloom is a professional network for women in communications. Home of The Booth of Truth, we champion the real voices of women.

Bloom initiatives that are changing the communications industry

One of Bloom’s 2019 objectives is to engage more men in the gender debate. The Bridge panel event on 1 Maywas the first in a number of initiatives designed to achieve that, The Exchange by Bloom is the second initiative in this programme.

The Exchange is a new type of cross-mentoring pilot inviting 20 industry-leading men to be matched with 20 Bloom women to break down the barriers contributing to the gender divide in our industry.

The Exchange

For BloomFest 2019, Bloom UK partnered with UM London on a quantitative study to uncover just how ‘Future Fit’ our industry really is. Capturing a cross section of men and women, across across all sectors, the 300+ study shone a spotlight on what a progressive comms industry really looks like, and the behaviours we’d need to adopt to deliver it. The aim was to go beyond the inclusive policies and positive press stories, and create tangible learnings and actions that everyone can implement in their own workplaces.

Future Fit Research

We launched the Bloom 'Naked Truths' podcast to amplify the important topics covered in our events and create even greater accessibility to the discussion. Through the podcast we will cover practical advice for those who were unable to attend our events and more in-depth discussion for those who attended and want to hear more.

The Naked Truths podcast will get right to the heart of difficult conversations to make real actionable change in the communications and creative industries.
